‘Black Hair Reimagined’: Hair is ‘Freedom’

“Black Hair Reimagined” was a new hair show celebrating Black beauty and artistry, emphasizing hair as “a symbol of identity, freedom, and cultural expression.”

Inspired by the Bronner Brothers legacy, the event featured top creatives including hairstylists Jawara Wauchope, Yusef Williams, Vernon Francois, Cyndia Harvey, and Malcom Marquez, alongside fashion stylists Carlos Nazario, Gabriela Karefa Jophson, Patti Wilson, Jan Michael Quammie, makeup artists Sheika Daley and Sir John, manicurist Dawn Sterling and more.

The show was held in New York City, emphasizing Black hair as art, identity, fantasy, resistance, and legacy.
